With over 20 years’ experience of financial services communications, Gug has extensive knowledge of the industry gained through working with a variety of sectors including banking, insurance, wealth management and the aggregator market. He has expertise in consumer finance and retail banking - devising and implementing media campaigns for clients and offering strategic advice for both proactive and reactive campaigns.
During his career, Gug has developed and executed campaigns for major corporate clients and has also built and managed in-house communications teams. He has worked on large scale national media campaigns and managed the external communication functions for a number of prominent businesses. Gug has held a number of senior PR roles and has experience of managing substantial budgets and implementing major change projects at a senior level.
Having worked for many years both in-house and within an agency environment, Gug has the advantage of being able to view communications functions from both perspectives and utilises his experience to ensure that campaigns work effectively within the wider scope of larger campaign goals. His relationships with the media are second to none. He has long standing and positive relationships with senior correspondents at both national and trade media level and has a keen eye for what makes a story.
Gug joined FWD in June 2013 following a number of senior positions within the communications industry and is a member of the agency’s senior management team.
